History
The town of nearby Dennis once celebrated the opening of a cable suspension bridge over the Brazos River. Dennis boasted two mercantile stores, a cotton gin, post office, and a blacksmith shop. The barn of the original Dennis estate still sits left of the 15th fairway and there are remnants of an old school house.

And it also holds Golf Digest's four star rating. SugarTree Golf Club has also hosted a U.S. Senior Men's Open qualifier and the Adams/Adidas Ft. Worth Classic.
